Position Summary: The Unit Secretary in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit contributes to high-quality, patient-centered care by performing various clerical tasks. Serving as the unit's receptionist, they assist the patient care team while upholding a clean, organized, and safe environment. What You Will Do In This Role: Quality Greets and attends to patients/visitors in waiting areas, directing them to other departments, and communicating wait times as needed. Performs patient-centered secretarial tasks, including physician order entry and organizing patient charts, while maintaining confidentiality. Receives and directs all incoming calls with accuracy and confidentiality. Ensures waiting and work areas are tidy, organized, and safe. Demonstrates proficiency in using computer and office equipment. Service Promotes consistent, positive patient interactions and advocates for a patient- and family-centered approach. Demonstrates caring and empathy, ensuring clear communication. Actively participates as a member of the health care team. Assists with orientation of new personnel, fostering teamwork. People Seeks opportunities to impact growth and participates in performance improvement activities. Takes initiative to increase job knowledge and skills through training. Finance ~ Utilizes charge system for supplies and equipment, optimizing their use. Other ~ Performs other assigned duties and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.” Education & Experience: BLS Certification required High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent TriStar Skyline Medical Center is a 250+ bed facility. We are Tennessee's first comprehensive stroke center and a national leader in neuroscience. In addition, we are equipped with 3 helipads, new ICU and Medical/Surgical floors, and burn care services. We offer a CARF accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation program and are an ACS verified Level II Trauma Center.
