As a Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality care and ensuring smooth operations within our healthcare team. You'll be at the forefront of patient care, working closely with patients and healthcare professionals to offer exceptional service and support. In addition, we are excited to offer a $3,000 sign-on bonus for new team members, paid in three installments: $1,000 at 30 days, $1,000 at 6 months, and $1,000 at 1 year.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care Coordination: Build and maintain strong, empathetic relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to enhance patient care and overall practice goals.
Efficient Patient Flow: Assist with patient visits, ensuring a timely and organized experience. You'll engage with patients about their visit, update medication and allergy lists, and review necessary screening questions.
Clear Communication: Ensure smooth communication between patients and healthcare providers. Provide key information, including the reason for the visit and any abnormal vitals, to help the provider prepare for the appointment.
Medical Assisting Duties: Under supervision, perform vital tasks such as taking accurate vital signs, performing EKGs, conducting point-of-care tests, drawing blood, administering immunizations (if certified), and assisting during procedures.
Population Health Support: Lead efforts to achieve quality health goals, including outreach, health coaching, and supporting patients with chronic disease management. Assist with gathering data and basic health coaching.
Equipment and Supplies Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked medical area. Ensure all equipment is up to date and safe for patient use.
Electronic Health Records (EHR): Use the EHR system to manage tasks such as prescription renewals, entering test orders, and updating patient information for accurate billing.
Scheduling and Insurance Verification: Schedule diagnostic tests and lab work as needed. Confirm insurance details, including referrals and pre-certifications, to ensure smooth patient visits.
Patient Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols to prevent patient harm, identify OSHA compliance issues, and ensure the confidentiality of patient health information (PHI).
Qualifications:
Required: High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree in Health Science preferred).
Medical Assistant certification preferred (or other relevant certifications such as Certified Nursing Assistant or Phlebotomy).
0-1 years of relevant work experience.
Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.

Physical & Sensory Requirements:
Physical Demands: This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and carrying light to moderate items. You may also need to assist with patient transport and lift objects up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Environmental Conditions: You'll be working in a healthcare setting, which may expose you to infectious diseases and other environmental factors. Protective equipment will be provided as needed.
